Tell us a bit about your family. I married my soul mate, and we share a house with our dog Jack, an Australian Shepherd with an affinity for things that smell bad. My husband is my content editor, advisor, and an overall badass—I talk through all of my novels with him. His support is unparalleled, and I’m so grateful to have him in my life.
What is your favorite quality about yourself? Sarcasm. It just makes life more fun.
What is your least favorite quality about yourself? I can be impatient, and sometimes my attention span is really… oh, shiny.
What is your favorite quote, by whom, and why? “Love all, trust few, harm none.” William Shakespeare, All’s Well That Ends Well
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life? Publishing my debut novel, Lichgates. I cried a little when I held the print edition in my hand for the first time. It was a dream come true, and I think a part of me was always afraid it was a pipe dream. But it happened, and I’ll continue to write and release novels throughout my life.
What is your favorite color? Green.
What is your favorite food? French bread.
What’s your favorite place in the entire world? My husband’s arms. (Blargh, I know, but I’m gooey.)
How has your upbringing influenced your writing? My parents are amazing and always encouraged me to write. They read everything I release, and I’m incredibly lucky to have them in my life.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? No, not really. My first novel was this terrible 13-page… uh… masterpiece I wrote in kindergarten. Since then, I’d like to think my craft has improved. I also think my love of reading has fueled me to explore fiction as an author.
